John Neumann

John Wayne “Big John” Neumann went to be with his Lord on July 8, 2020 at the age of 83.

John was born in Houston, TX on April 1, 1937. He was raised in Houston and later moved to the Coastal Bend.

He worked as a rig welder for many years, later moving to the auto industry and retired from Aransas Autoplex 3 years ago.

John was a big, kind, teddy bear that was loved by all who knew him. He may have forgotten a name, but never a face. If you met him, you remembered him.

He loved to fish, golf, visit casinos, and dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was the epitome of the jokester. If he loved you, you knew it.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, a daughter, and a nephew.

He is survived by, his wife, Jeanie Rutledge, his sister Sharon Gregston, his son Michael (Kim) Neumann, daughter Tracy (Jeff) Palamara, and stepdaughter Gail (Mike) Schuller. Also, sister in law Jerry Neumann, brother in law Fred (Sally) Diederich.

Grandchildren Matthew, Emily, Nicholas, Alexandra, Jake, Michael Wayne, Cody and Brandon, also 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
