Jerry Smith

Jerry H Smith, 85, of Aransas Pass, TX, beloved husband and father, was called to his eternal resting place on April 2, 2020. He entered this world on March 24, 1935 in Tonkawa, OK born to Chester and Lola McQuinn Smith.

Jerry had many accomplishments over the years. In high school Jerry played football in Tonkawa High School and they won the state title 3 years in a row. That record stood until 4-5 years ago. He served in the USAF followed by working for Conoco, Inc, he operated an MFA insurance agency as well. Jerry was active in the Lions club, Chamber of Commerce and the Jaycees, served on the Tonkawa City Council and was a member of the board of the First Christian Church. He also served as Washington School Cub Scout Pack leader and coached his two sons in Little League Baseball. He loved deer hunting and after his retirement he loved visiting with family, playing golf and watching all kinds of sports especially his beloved University of Oklahoma Sooners.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Smith; mother, Lola McQuinn Smith; brother, Monte G Smith; twin brother, Larry A Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalee Smith of Aransas Pass; sons, Larry K (Robbie) Smith of Katy, TX; Michael G (Nina) Smith of Houston, TX; daughter, Stacey (Steve) Moore of Ardmore, OK.; grandchildren, Joel Herren of Oklahoma City, OK; Spencer Newcome-Moore of Springfield, MA; Preston Moore of Ardmore, OK; Sydney Moore of Ardmore, OK.; Great Granddaughter, Kimber Grace Moore of Ardmore, OK.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Military honors will be presented by the United States Air Force honor team.
