Betty Sue Stansberry (Glenn), age 85, of Aransas Pass, Texas stepped into her Heavenly home on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Betty was born on January 15, 1937 in Aransas Pass, TX to William E. and Evlina Chapman Glenn. She was the baby of 8 children. She attended Aransas Pass High School and was part of the Class of 1955. She married the love of her life, Nolan Eugene Stansberry, on July 30, 1954, and together had four children, Terry, Leroy, Karen Sue and Scott.
Betty worked for over 40 years at the hospitals in Aransas Pass as a Certified Surgical Technician. The love of her profession began when Dr. Kumm asked her if she would be willing to step into the OR and assist him with surgery as his assistant was not going to make it to work that day. He showed her the instruments he would need and how to pass them to him. She bought the books, studied at home and passed the State Certification tests. To say she was determined would be an understatement.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Nolan, her parents, her bothers Eldon (Shorty) Glenn, Kenneth Glenn, Arthur Glenn, and Jack Glenn and sisters Wilma Haapanen, Katherine Goldsmith and Doris Chambers. She is survived by her son Terry (Cheryle) Stansberry of Aransas Pass, Leroy Stansberry of Aransas Pass, Karen Sue (Larry) Stout of Ingleside, TX and Scott (Lupe) Stansberry of Sierra Vista, AZ, 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
