Zona Gayle Chilcoat

April 7, 1928 – June 9, 2020

Zona Gayle Chilcoat, formerly of Rockport, passed away on June 9, 2020 in Greenville, Texas. She was born on April 7, 1928 in Ada, Oklahoma to John and Ovella Pearl Norton. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Billie Hunter and Betty Cannon, husband James Edmon Chilcoat, and her daughter Gayle Ann Chilcoat.

Zona is survived by Nephews; Jimmy Chilcoat and wife Jean of Rockport, Darrell Hunter and wife Dianne of Lena, Mississippi, Travis Hunter and wife Tonya of Pattonville, TX., Mike Choate and wife Debbie of Ada, Oklahoma, Nieces; Debbie Shaddix of Porter, Texas, and Kristina Crawford and husband Danny of Caddo Mills, Texas.

Zona was a long-time resident of Rockport where she was a student of, caregiver and Gallery Manager for Simon Michael, a noted local artist and teacher. After Mr. Michael’s death Zona owned Simon Michael Gallery for many years and was a fixture in the coastal art colony.
