Winston Brewster Caraker

Winston Brewster Caraker Jr, aged 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28th, 2024 at the home of William Caraker. He was born on July 13, 1938, in Camden, New Jersey to Virginia Elizabeth Caraker and Winston Brewster Caraker Sr.

A long-time resident of Aransas Pass, Texas, he was known to most as a local shrimper back in the day. To visit Winston on a holiday, or any other day, and hear him tell interesting stories of sailing the sea, an uncle smuggling gold out of Nicaragua and other crazy adventures, you would have to visit the local VFW in Ingleside, his long-time preferred watering hole (just make sure you don’t sit in his barstool).

Graveside services will be held Friday, October 4th, at the Palms Memorial Gardens in Taft at 2 pm. Family and those who knew him are welcome to gather at the VFW in Ingleside afterward to raise a glass in honor and respect.
