William Barrow Pugh

William Barrow Pugh III passed away at his home in Rockport on November 4, 2018. The son of Margaret and William Barrow Pugh Jr, Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 18, 1948.

Bill studied business at Colorado College and among other things he helped open and was the general manager of the Wynkoop Brewing Company, the first brewpub in Colorado.

Bill met and married his wife of 30 years, Mary Catherine, in Denver. In 1989 the couple moved to Texas to be near family, where Bill worked for Half Price Books. After earning a master's degree in English from Texas A&M Corpus Christi Bill taught English and writing at Del Mar College.

Bill was a kind and caring son and husband, and he was fiercely devoted to his many friends.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church at 4:00 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to The Texas Maritime Museum, 1202 Navigation Circle, Rockport, TX 78382, where Bill was proud to serve on the board of trustees.
