William (Bill) Floyd Koester left for home with his Heavenly Father on December 29, 2016 at the age of 75 years.
Bill was born on May 22, 1941 to Ted and Margaret Koester in San Antonio, Texas where he attended all 12 years of school in San Antonio graduating from Edison High School in 1960. He later moved to Corpus Christi and attended Del Mar College.
In 1962, he went to work for Morgan Engineering Inc. in Corpus Christi earning his apprenticeship in the pipefitter/air conditioning trade. He was a member of Local 185 of the Plumbers and Pipefitters in Corpus Christi. From 1965 until 1979 he worked for Anslinger A/C Mechanical Contractors in Corpus Christi.
In 1979 he started his own company; HVAC Services, Inc. which he operated until his retirement in 2014. After his retirement, he enjoyed working part time for Johnstone Supply Co., where he had many friends that he treasured.
Bill married Marietta Goodrum in 1964. They celebrated 52 years of marriage this past November. Bill and Marietta had two wonderful children; Susie and Donny and left us with many wonderful memories of raising them both.
Bill was loved and respected by his family, co-workers, employees and friends. He was especially fond of the "Prices Chef Regulars" who he became very close with and embraced as members of his family as well.
His wife and children are left with heavy hearts, but grateful for the life that they shared with him.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; Ted and Margaret, his beloved grandson Dustin Svadlenak, and his sister Liz Rudd.
He is survived by his wife Marietta, daughter Susie Moore (husband, Steve Moore), son Donny Koester (wife, Trish Boggs Koester) and his grandchildren Bobby, Brady and Haley Svadlenak; Dylan, Matthew and Riley Koester and two great grandchildren; Trent and Kyla Svadlenak. He is also survived by his brother, Bob Koester (wife Lenore), and his sister, Harriet Lowry, along with many nieces and nephews that he thought so highly of.
Services will be entrusted to Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3. 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:00 am at Portland United Methodist Church on Wildcat Drive. Burial to follow at Palms Memorial Gardens in Portland, Texas.
