He especially loved hunting and fishing. He spent many days gardening with his close friend, Joe Floyd, whom he loved dearly. When able to, he spent hours playing with his grandchildren, who called him Grumpy. Billy never met a stranger. He loved to play practical jokes and had a great sense of humor. He was a gentleman to the end and would stop to help anyone who needed a hand. He and his wife were strong advocates for raising awareness about Alzheimer's. Many hours were dedicated as a committee member for The Alzheimer's Association. Billy was adamant that he did not want people to mourn for him. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Billy will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a date to be determined later.
