Wendell Kohl

Wendell E. "Buck" Kohl, 83, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 after a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carole: children, Diana Kohl Collins Grant (Micheal), of Rockport, TX , Lisa Kohl of Toledo, Ohio, Alan Kohl (Kim Anderson) of Baytown, TX; Grandchildren, Gunnar Kohl, Wendy Collins, Samuel Collins (Heather), Brady Grant (Amanda), Evan Martindale and two great-grandchildren, Brody and Anabelle Grant.

Buck was a lifetime member of Rockport Volunteer Fire Department. As current secretary and former Chief, Buck served the Rockport community as a firefighter for 25 years. He was Director and Treasurer of the 100 Club of Aransas for many years.

Buck's greatest love was the New York Yankees, cheering his team on at Yankee Stadium for 78 years.

His 34 year DuPont career began in West Virginia in 1963 and after many transfers retired in 1990. He then joined SACHEM, Inc. as Operations Manager, retiring as VP of Operations in 2000.

Buck's jovial and caring nature was infectious. He always had a smile on his face. We enjoyed many good times with our dear Rockport friends.
