Walter Ira Stryker, 97 passed away March 2, 2018. He was born August 11, 1920 in Goldthwaite, Texas to Walton and Gertrude Stryker. He proudly served in the US Navy as a Seabee in Iwo Jima during WWII. He was also past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge of Rockport and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rockport.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Gregory Stryker; brothers, Tom, Charlie, Raymond and Jim Stryker; sister, Noble Manship.

He is survived by his son, Gary Walton Stryker (Linda) of Cypress, Texas; Betty Louise Stryker Sisk of Bellingham, Massachusetts; sister, Sally Louise Houston of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, D. Scott, Sandy, Joanne, Chelsey, Meg Ann and Gregory; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12:00p.m.-8:00p.m. with family present from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Rockport. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Rockport Cemetery.
