Walter Burgess

Walter Allen "Red" Burgess, 65 passed away with his family by his side on September 22, 2017. He was born July 14, 1952 in Brownfield, Texas. He was a 1972 graduate of APHS and played football for the Panthers, he was a longtime league bowler at Sully's Bowling Lanes and also raised cattle and goats. He refereed and coached for youth soccer teams in the coastal bend area. Red worked for many companies including, Whataburger, the City of Aransas Pass Police Dispatch and Port Aransas Police Dispatch, the City of Aransas Pass Public Works, Brown & Root, maintenance for Baytree Apartments, Gulf Marine Fabrications and Port Royal Condominiums. He was a wonderful husband, father and paw paw and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father, Loyd Eddie Burgess; mother Georgiana Harwood and step-father, Oscar Harwood; brother, Loyd Edward Burgess.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Burgess; son, Jacob Allen Burgess (Kayrin); daughters, Amanda Lee Noe (William Rich), Erin Elaine Burgess (Enver Xhaferaj), Alicya Nykol Burgess (William Henderson); son-in-law, Christopher J. Noe; brother, James Richard Burgess; sisters, Donna Sue Haer, Paula Jean Schibi Burgess; grandchildren, Harrison, Fay, Alex, Edi, Madeleine, Cassie, Allen and Aspen; numerous nephews, nieces and other extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be, James Burgess, Greg Burgess, Lance Burgess, Christopher Noe, William Henderson and Enver Xhaferaj.

Visitation will be held from 9:00a.m-9:00p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Funeral service will begin at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 all at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
