Virginia Brashear

June 15, 1938 — August 27, 2018

Mrs. Virginia Lynn "Ginger" Brashear, of Aransas Pass, Texas (formerly of Wichita Falls, Texas) was the daughter of the late David Matthew Marker and Virginia Tennessee (Price) Marker. Ginger was born June 15, 1938 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She attended public schools in Wichita Falls, Texas and was a proud graduate of Wichita Falls High School "Coyotes' Class of '56.

She was married to the love of her life William Robert "Bill" Brashear of Aransas Pass, Texas (formerly of Wichita Falls, Texas). Their love for each other will always be an example to her family and many friends.

Ginger was born and lived half of her life in Wichita Falls, Texas until she and Bill moved to Aransas Pass in 1979 which she quickly embraced as her hometown for almost 40 years.

Mrs. Brashear was a loyal, dedicated employee of Commercial Motors Company in Aransas Pass for more than 30 years. Her fellow employees were considered her extended family. Despite her courageous battle with her disease and her advancing age, Ginger showed that she was a dedicated employee by working until the end. She was a very active member of numerous clubs throughout her life: Aransas Pass Federation of Women's' Club, A.P. Home Extension Club and many High School Booster Clubs in Wichita Falls as well as Aransas Pass to mention a few. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her greatest desire was that everyone just love each other.
Ginger loved her church family, First Christian Church of AP. Ginger served as Board Chair at First Christian Church as well as Fellowship Coordinator (Kitchen Queen). Her Christian life was a model for her family that she loved so much, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Her giving spirit and talents for cooking and crafting knew no limit and will be missed by so many.
Ginger's love for life included her pets, and they were always a big part of her daily life.
Ginger fought a courageous battle with cancer which never dampened her spirit. She won the victory over death with her precious savior Jesus Christ by her side. She quietly departed this life, August 27, 2018 at her home in Aransas Pass, Texas surrounded by her beloved family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother David Marker of Florida.
