Vickie Johnson

Vickie Elaine Johnson, Age 71, of Ponder, TX, passed away Sunday, July 14 2024 in Corpus Christi TX. She spent her final days at the beach with her grandchildren and great grandchildren before peacefully passing away early Sunday morning.

She was born in Crane, TX on February 1, 1953. She was preceded in death by Father, Donald Gene Johnson, Mother, Carmelata Johnson, and Brother, Tommy Johnson. She was survived by brother Layne Johnson, son Matt Hickman, son Dan Nulisch; granddaughter Marissa Perkins, grandsons Cade Hickman, Tommy Hickman, and Joshua Hickman; great grandsons Elijah Perkins and Luke Perkins.

Vickie graduated from MacArthur High School in Irving, TX and worked for 28 years in Human Resources before retiring in Ponder TX.

She enjoyed many hobbies such as sewing, playing piano, and baking. But her favorite pass-time was spending time with her grandchildren, as they learned how to do the things she enjoyed right alongside her. She taught them how to cook and bake, as well as many other valuable life lessons. She was a great person to just sit and have a conversation with and gave the best advice at all the right times.

Vickie made her children and grandchildren always feel loved and welcomed them with open arms. She was always up to play a game of Sorry! or Old Maid, bake some magic cookie bars, or have a laugh watching Saturday Night Live together. She always made sure to include those she loved in everything she was doing, and her friends & family will treasure the memories made with her dearly.

She will be missed by the many who knew and loved her, but she will always be remembered. Whether you called her Vickie, Vic, Goo Goo, Grandma, or Mom, know that she is resting peacefully and is waiting to see us again someday.
