Ulysses Herrera

October 27, 2000 — December 22, 2024

Aransas Pass

We come together with heavy hearts and deep sorrow to remember and honor the life of Ulysses Herrera, a young man taken from us far too soon. At just 24 years old, Ulysses had so much life ahead of him, full of dreams, love, and endless potential. His time with us was far too brief, but the joy, laughter, and love he shared will live on in our hearts forever.

Ulysses was a man whose love for his family knew no bounds. He cherished his father deeply, and the bond they shared was one built on respect, admiration, and countless cherished moments together. Whether it was driving his dad around or keeping him busy with side jobs, Ulysses found joy in every moment they spent side by side. His devotion to his mother was equally profound—he worked tirelessly to make her proud, always bringing a smile to her face and a warmth to her heart, even on the toughest days. To his siblings, Ulysses was more than just a brother; he was a protector, a confidant, and the one who could always make them laugh, no matter the circumstances.

Ulysses had a special, undeniable love for his nieces and nephews. He didn’t just spend time with them—he created magical moments. He dressed up as the Easter Bunny to surprise them during the holidays and took on the role of Santa Claus to fill their hearts with wonder each Christmas. These little moments of joy and love are now beautiful memories that will live on in their hearts forever.

Ulysses was just beginning a beautiful journey with his girlfriend, a love full of promise and hope. Together, they shared dreams of a future filled with kindness and joy. He was also the life of the party, creating lasting memories with his cousins and bringing people together with his energy and spirit.

He was a character in the truest sense of the word. Ulysses had a unique gift for making everyone around him laugh. Whether it was telling jokes, pranking his family, or simply finding humor in any situation, his infectious laughter was something everyone remembered. His humor was his light, and it could brighten the darkest of days. He had the rare ability to make people feel special, to lift their spirits, and to make them forget their worries, if even for a moment. He loved the open road, whether cruising on his motorcycle or taking his car for a drive. It was in those moments that he found peace, joy, and a sense of freedom.

Though Ulysses’ life was tragically cut short, his legacy is one of love, humor, and connection. He taught us how to cherish the people we love, to embrace laughter in all things, and to live life with an open heart. As we mourn his loss, we take comfort in the beautiful memories he gave us, knowing his spirit will always be with us.

Ulysses is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Trinidad Herrera Jr. and Paula Herrera.

He is survived by his parents, Liza Moreno (Arnold) and Trinidad Herrera III; his siblings, Genissa Herrera (Marco), Harley Herrera (Raul), and Trinidad Herrera IV (Brittany); his nieces, Gabriella and Aleyna, and nephews, Santiago, Gionni, and Ezekiel; his maternal grandparents, Rosa and Raul Moreno Sr.; his girlfriend Nina Hernandez, and children David, Dominique, and Andres; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take solace in knowing that Ulysses will never be forgotten. His love, his laughter, and his spirit will continue to guide us, forever in our hearts. Rest in peace, Ulysses Herrera. We love you.
