Thomas Depuma, Jr.

Thomas J DePuma Jr., 86, of Rockport passed away April 27, 2018. He was born September 16, 1931 in Newark New Jersey to Thomas and Marion DePuma.

Thomas graduated from Newark College of Engineering in 1955 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Upon graduation from college Tom married the love of his life Carol Ann Long. Tom started his 39-year career with E. I. DuPont at the Chambers Works site Deepwater New Jersey and moved to Texas in 1972 to startup the DuPont chemical plant located in Ingleside. Tom passion in life was the volunteer fire departs that he served. Tom started right out of college with the Swedesboro, NJ Fire Department and then moved to the Reliance Fire Department in Woodstown, NJ where he served as fire chief. After moving to Texas, Tom quickly joined the Portland, TX Fire department and, finally, the Rockport Volunteer Fire Department. All together, Tom dedicated over 50 years of his life to the volunteer fire department and never lost the passion to help other's in their time of need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but always remembered by those whose lives he touched.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Marion DePuma, his beloved wife Carol Ann DePuma and his daughter-in-law Brenda Bird DePuma.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynne Raymond (Greg); sons, Bruce DePuma (Arlene), Kenneth DePuma, and Laurence DePuma (Jennifer); grandchildren, Christopher DePuma, Michael DePuma (Megan), Carrie DePuma, Shaun DePuma, Janice Gonzales-DePuma, Katie DePuma, Kristie DePuma, Alexander Raymond, Jennifer Love (Bradley), Brian Clark (Amber) and six great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 at
Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church on North Beach in Corpus Christi TX.

Burial will follow in New Jersey.
