Sylvia Combs

Sylvia Torres Combs, 58, beloved daughter, mother and sister, was called to her eternal resting place on July 14, 2020. She entered this world on February 14, 1962 in Sinton, TX, born to Facundo and Lupe Torres. She is survived by Eric Combs (son) and Miranda Combs (daughter), and her sisters Maggie Flores, Cristina Estrada (Joe) and Monica McCracken (Patrick). She was preceded in death by her father Facundo and her brother Johnny. Sylvia deeply loved her four nieces (Cassie, Erica, Denise, Anna) and five nephews (George, Jacob, John, Michael, Anthony) and first great-nephew Sebastian. She cherished her relationships with her cousins, extended family and friends.

Sylvia loved her job with the Community Action Corporation of South Texas-Head Start program where she worked for 19 years as a family advocate. She is known to many as Miss Sylvia. She loved to help anyone that she came across without hesitation. She was the life of the party wherever she went. She will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation will be held from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:00p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Rockport. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockport. Burial will follow at Rockport Cemetery.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping with social distancing orders, all necessary restrictions will be observed in order to protect the health and safety of those in attendance. Wear face coverings while inside building. Continue to practice social distancing while inside the funeral home chapel. We continue to ask that those at risk or those not feeling well stay home and reach out to the family through our obituary page.
