Steven Jones

Steven Raymond Jones Sr. was born May 2, 1972 in Chicago, IL, at Cook County Hospital, to Gloria Jones of Dumas, AR and John Henry Evans of Chicago, IL.

Steven confessed a hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Ausby Larkin at Havis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Dumas, AR. Steven attended Dumas Public Schools where he graduated in May of 1991. After high school he enlisted in Job Corps and learned various skills and trades. Throughout the years, he worked many jobs, with his most recent being Cloud Industry in Pasadena, TX. 

Steven was affectionately known as "winky" by friends and family. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. The laughs and memories that he made will last forever. Steven had a way of making you laugh and love him even when he was getting on your nerves. He never met a stranger and was friendly to everyone he met. His infectious sense of humor was only matched by his love for fishing, dominos, and spades

Steve leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Beatrice Jones, parents Gloria Jones and John Evans; Children: Steven Jones Jr. (Rockport, TX); Miesha (Aron) Flowers (St. Louis, MO); Breanna Jones (St. Louis, MO); Miya Jones (St. Louis, MO).

Siblings: Tony (Ella) Banks (Kileen, TX); Willie (Janice) Baker (Little Rock, AR); Natasha Evans (Chicago, IL); Jerliane Brown; Gernard Thomas.

Aunts: Ruby Jones; Callie Jones; Terri Jones; Blanchie Evans; Jane Evans; Barbara Evans Jackson.

Uncles: Levi (Beatrice Jones); Jerry Johnson; Fred (Georgia May) Evans; Matthew (Martha) Evans; Robie Evans; Eddie Lee Evans; John Thoms

In addition, he leaves behind 4 grandchildren (Lily Flowers, Sylas Flowers, Aaliyah Clark, and Ella Jones), 3 special friends (Clifton Robinson, Bryan Chaffin, and David Horn), a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. 

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 17,2024 from 9:00 am until service time of 2:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home 814 East Main St. Rockport, Texas 78382
