Steve Theodore, Sr.

Services for Steve Theodore, Sr., 91, of Longview, formerly of Rockport, will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport with Rev. Charles Fake officiating. Burial will follow in Rockport Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Rockport, Texas.

Mr. Theodore died Friday, April 21, 2017 in Longview, Texas. He was born January 7, 1926 to Kyriokas and Anna Theodore in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was raised in Calallen, Texas with his brother and five sisters. The family subsequently moved to Rockport, Texas. On December 17, 1948, he married Kitty Jo Coaker. He served his country from 1950 to 1953. While in Rockport, he was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a lifetime member of both the Rockport Masonic Lodge and the Shriners of North America. For more than 50 years, he was a concrete contractor in Rockport and the Gulf Coast region. In 2011, he and Kitty Jo retired to Longview where they could enjoy being close to family.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Kitty Jo in 2013, a son, David Theodore in 2008, a brother, Milton Theodore in 2014, and three sisters, Olga Kendrick in 1982, Fanny Hobbs in 2008, and Anna Mae Wood in 2016. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Theodore of Longview, two sons, Bill Theodore of Keller, Texas and Steve Theodore of Belton, Texas, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
