Stanley E. Hurt

Stanley E. Hurt, 76, of Princeville, Illinois passed away unexpectedly, January 26, 2025 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born in Bethesda, Maryland on May 31, 1948 and adopted by Berryman and Helen Hurt at three months of age.
He graduated from Princeville High School in 1966 and attended Canton Community College in Canton, IL until he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country in Vietnam in 1969 and 1970.
Stan had a career in farming after coming home from Vietnam. He was past Commander of the Dunlap American Legion, Dunlap, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Bridget
Pearson.
He married Kathryn "Kat" Hurt on May 5, 2001. She survives.
He is also survived by children: David (Stacey) Hansen of East Peoria, IL; Aimee (Gene) Pearson of Marquette Heights, IL; Candy (Scott) Jackson of Peoria, IL and grandchildren: Nicholas (Tabatha) Hansen of Pekin, IL; Shea Hansen (Caleb Lentz) of Wenona, IL; Logan Hansen of Peoria, IL; Madison Jackson of Peoria, IL; Brogan Pearson of Marquette Heights, IL, great-granddaughter, Jade Uphoff of Pekin, IL and great-grandson Caspian Lentz of Wenona, IL.
There will be no services. At Stan's wish, there will be a Celebration of Life at Dunlap American Legion, Dunlap, IL at a later date.
