Sarah Sue Weir

Sarah Sue Weir of Rockport, TX, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior, September 9, 2024. Sue was born on August 31, 1943 in Kermit, TX. Sue was an elementary school teacher for many years until she retired in 2001.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Alma Lee & Freeman Paschall; husband, Oscar G. (Jerry) Weir; brother, George Buchanan; grandson, Mason Weir; daughter, Susan Weir Stephens, and son, Steve Weir. 

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jane & Jimmy Farrier; son, Bruce Weir and wife, Nancy; son, Mark Weir, and daughter-in-law, Jan Weir. Sue was a loved MiMi by her grandchildren, Tiffany Magill and husband TK, Shane Josey and wife ,Megan, Haily Gugel, and great grandchildren, Dylan, Josey, and Ryanne Magill, Brody, Charlee, and Bryn Josey. Along with many other loved ones and dear friends.

 Sue was an avid bird lover. Sue loved to travel and took many wonderful trips. She loved nature and the outdoors. Sue spent a lot of her time volunteering in her church and the Rockport community. She will be remembered as always being positive, kind, and wanting to help any and everyone possible. Sue will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her.

A celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11 am at The First United Methodist Church in Rockport.

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Learning Tree at First United Methodist Church Rockport, or to the Sue Buchanan Weir Scholarship Fund at Lee College in Baytown, TX.
