Ruth Chaney

Ruth A. Chaney, 85, went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2018. Mrs. Chaney was born on December 23, 1932 in Bay City, TX, to Frank and Annie Sas, who preceded her in death.

Ruth was a member of Solid Rock UPC and the Apostolic Temple UPC. She was known for her seamstress and embroidery skills and craftsmanship. Ruth loved her plants, especially hibiscus flowers and feeding birds and squirrels in her yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Chaney; two sons, William Joseph Chaney and Stephen Lawrence Chaney; one grandson, Colton Monroe.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, James Lee Chaney of Austin, TX; three daughters, Susan Atchley of Corpus Christi, Stephanie (Andrew) Cain of Portland, TX and Kathy (Walter) Phillips of the State of Mississippi; one sister, Bonnie Kahla of Alto, TX; grandchildren, Shawna Atchley, James William Chaney, Andrew Chaney, Erin Ericson, Priscilla Snellgrove, Christopher Atchley, Lana Atchley, Hannah Monroe, Sarah Monroe, Billy James; twelve great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November the 30, 2018 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, TX.

Funeral ceremony will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, TX. Christian burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass, TX.
