Ruben Perez Hinojosa, 76, went to be with the Lord, after a long battle with Covid, on January 6, 2021. He was born July 23, 1944 in Taft, Texas, to parents Emilia and Ernesto Hinojosa Sr.
Ruben loved the outdoors, fast cars, fishing, painting and crafts, but above all else he loved his family and friends.
He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and cousin.
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents, Emilia Perez Hinojosa and Ernesto T. Hinojosa Sr; daughter, Viola Sowell; sister, Rafaela Pena and granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Hinojosa.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Synthia Hinojosa; his children, Ruben “Chato” Hinojosa Jr.; Elia (Adolfo) Menchaca; Freddy (Patricia) Hinojosa and Rosie (Juan) Deleon; his brother, Ernesto (Elvira) Hinojosa Jr.; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruben will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held, Monday, January 11, 2021 from 12 – 7 pm. Rosary to be recited at 7pm, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Tx.
Funeral Mass to be held, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 10 am., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory, Tx. With Graveside service to follow at Gregory Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Johnathan Lopez, Matthew Deleon, Alex Sowell, Tony Moreno, Adolfo Menchaca Jr. and Juan Deleon.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping with social distancing orders, all necessary restrictions will be observed in order to protect the health and safety of those in attendance. Wear face coverings while inside building. Continue to practice social distancing while inside the funeral home chapel. We continue to ask that those at risk or those not feeling well stay home and reach out to the family through our obituary page.
