Ronnie James

Ronnie Clark James, (b. March 22, 1944) of Fulton Texas, departed this life on the 21st day of April, 2018. Survived by his wife of 25 years, Kathryn James, 9 children: Geneva Brunner(Jim) of Orange Grove; Marcy James of Rockport; Karen Rodriguez (Kenney) of Houston; Jo Rachelle Deckert of Ingleside; Jody Woods (Shawn) of New Kent, VA; Ryan Gummer (Patty) of Rockport; Kyle Oakman (Addy) of Rockport; Kathryn Oakman (Abraham) of Rockport; Hannah Oakman of Rockport; 21 grandchildren: Trey Roedersheimer, Chezna Givens, Ronnie Roedersheimer, Lucas Abraham Rodriguez, David Deckert, Kayla Young, Jocelyn Deckert, Michael Rodriguez, Destiny Woods, Trenten Woods, Jade Vargas, Chris Oakman, Molly & Lucy Rodriguez, Ryan Gummer, Stormie Oakman, Robert Gummer, Marco Tellez, Olivia Tellez, T. J. Greenwood, Ashli Greenwood; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way, numerous nieces and nephews and "father" to many more.

The last surviving child of Raymond and Alta James of Rockport, TX, Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Raymond James, Peggy Mauch, Shelly Amason, and his first wife, Wanda Jo James.

A legend in his own right, the outlaw Ronnie James and his brother were the top shrimp producers on the Texas Coast. He navigated his way to Orange Grove where he set his net as a "chicken farmer." Upon his return to Fulton, he flourished as a long term pillar of the community. He held onto his family as tight as a pair of Aces in a game of Texas Holdem. There is no doubt that he is two stepping in the sky among the Texas Sunflowers. He was country all the way down to his boots.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, TX; funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Fulton Community Church located at 215 N. 3rd St. Rockport, TX 78382. A celebration of life will follow at the James residence immediately following the service.
