Ronnie Elwyn Bedre, known to his loved ones as Ronnie, and “Bub” to some, passed away on August 6, 2023, at the age of 68 in Aransas Pass, Texas. Ronnie was born on August 15, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a loving husband to Nancy Hada and a devoted father to his sons, Jason and Josh. Ronnie cherished his family and friends, always willing to lend a helping hand during difficult times.
Ronnie had a passion for sports, particularly golf and football. He spent many enjoyable hours watching and following them, and Ronnie loved working in his yard, shaping the occasional bonsai tree, and grilling outside by his pool.
Ronnie's career was marked by dedication and hard work. He owned and operated a Western Auto store alongside his father, Abe, in Aransas Pass for many years. Later, Ronnie managed and operated the Live Oak Country Club for over a decade before becoming a golf course superintendent at Pharoahs Country Club with "Mr. Kim." At the time of his passing, Ronnie was still working at the Oso Beach Municipal Golf Course where he continued to manage the grounds and teach his craft to others.
Ronnie will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hada; his sons, Jason and Josh, and their wives, Jennifer and Lynne, respectively; his grandchildren, Andrew Bedre (18), Lauren Bedre (15), Blake Bedre (10), Abram Bedre (7), Mya Fetouh (11), Adam Fetouh (9), Aiden Fetouh (3), Kai Ipka (2), Amari, and Kaiden (newborn twins) ; and their parents Shelby Sutton and Omar Fetouh, and Stacy Sutton and Anthony Ikpa and sister Kathleen Ashwin.
A gathering to honor Ronnie's life will be held on August 10, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home located at 2003 W Wheeler Ave, Aransas Pass, TX 78336.
Ronnie's warm personality, love for his family, and dedication to his work will be remembered by all who knew him. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his loved ones.
