Roland “ Ronnie” Bible, 78, of Rockport, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 6th, 2023. He was born October 10, 1945, to William Bible and Edith Taylor of Austin. Having been born the only child to deaf parents back in 1945 made Ronnie a strong tough man. Ronnie is survived by his children: Amy of Lockhart, Texas, Roland of Austin, Texas, Ronnie Lee of Atoka, Tennessee, Kathy of San Marcos, Texas and Stephen of San Benito, Texas. Ronnie is survived by grandchildren as follows, Jasmine of Kyle, Texas, Taylor of Victoria, Texas, Sydney of San Marcos, Texas, Ronnie Lee of of Munford, Tennessee, Dylan of Munford, Tennessee, and Erica of Kyle, Texas.
Ronnie had several nick names over his life here with us….the first being A-1….Ronnie could fix anything and loved a fast engine and hearing making something run. Ronnie worked for Austin Independent School District for 30 plus years eventually becoming the Director for Transportation for the school system. After a stroke and a heart attack, Ronnie decided to move to the coast eventually settling in Rockport, Texas. To know Ronnie was to love him. He loved sitting with his friends and telling all of them to “take a break” and sit with him to discuss what was happening in the town and cook something together. Ronnie cherished his granddaughters and would be so happy when they came to see him or participate in chili cook offs or heading to the beach. Ronnie was an excellent girl dad and would always cherish the conversations with his children.
Ronnie was a great friend to many. He often told his daughter Amy if the day you die you can count on one hand the best friends you could have, you’re a lucky person. Daddy had many friends in his life with, an individual is blessed to have friends like TJ Shank, Jim Campbell, and Plano Ellis who really supported him as his illness progressed.
Ronnie loved making a good BBQ, going to Mexico with the family, taking a ride with his dogs, or sitting down and listening to great country song.
He will be dearly missed more than one can put in writing.
