In loving memory, we announce the passing of Rodolfo Raul Robles, affectionately known as Rudy and fondly referred to as "Black Comando" by his colleagues in the fishing industry. Born on July 3, 1942, in Monterrey, Mexico, Rudy blessed this world with his presence for 82 remarkable years. He departed this life peacefully at home in Rockport, Texas, on December 14, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love of family and friends.
Rudy was a man of many talents and passions. In the 1960s, he captivated audiences as "El Vaquero" in the renowned "Hole in the Wall Gunfighter" shows, sharing his charisma and joy with anyone fortunate enough to witness his performances. A skilled carpenter by trade, he built not just structures, but a legacy of hard work, devotion, and laughter that will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
Rudy leaves behind a loving wife, Amparo Irma Robles, with whom he shared 64 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they nurtured a vibrant family that includes their seven cherished children: Christine Vela (Ramon), Isabel Rodriguez, Nancy Sleeth (Randy), Velma Robles, Rodolfo Robles Jr., Sylvia Crosby, and Belinda Free. He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to six great-great-grandchildren. He also held a special place in his heart for family friend Karen Williams, lovingly known as the other daughter.
Though his journey has come to an end, Rudy is greeted now by those who preceded him in death: his mother Maria Chavez, brothers Baltazar Chavez and Nick Lara, and the cherished spirits of his great-great-grandchild, Chantel; granddaughter Zanida Chambers; and grandsons Julian Crosby and Abel Aguirre.
As we reflect on his legacy-full of love, laughter, and indomitable spirit-we honor the memories we shared with this remarkable man. Let us come together to cherish his life, share stories, and support each other as we remember Rodolfo Raul Robles, a beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend.
In our hearts, his spirit will continue to live on, guiding us with the tenderness and strength he so beautifully embodied. May he rest in peace.
