Robert Johnson

Robert J. (Bob) Johnson, 77, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Rockport, TX, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on December 28, 1940 in Hamilton, OH to Thomas and Caretta Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Caretta Johnson; son, James (Jamie) Johnson and one grandson, Alex Giles Wynn.

He is survived by his wife Mary Clare Johnson and his daughter Cynthia Lisa Johnson.

Bob resided in Camden, OH, until he joined the USAF. He served in Germany 1964-1966, in Vietnam 1966-1967 as a Sergeant in intelligent gathering units.

Bob married Mary Clare (Kayo Osborn) while stationed in San Antonio, TX, on December 28, 1967. He received his BA at Miami University, Oxford, OH; and a MBA from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH.

He was employed, until retiring at Hamilton Caster in Hamilton, OH, as Information Systems Manager, A&M SoffSeal, General Plant Manager, CSM at Auto Zone, Oxford, OH. His last position for 10 years was in Oxford, OH at Agee Hardware Store.

Bob's family retired to Rockport, TX in 2009; where the family became members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He worked as a substitute teacher as a Winter Texan for the Aransas County School District. He also worked at the Rockport Beach; first for the City of Rockport then for the Navigation District.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Richard Stagg Sr. Richard Stagg II, Casey Stagg, Christopher Osborn, Michael Rhor, and Clay Bost.

In Lieu of flowers family would like donations be made to a charity of your choice.

All services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport, TX, with a Rosary being recited at 9:30 a.m. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Christian burial will follow at Aransas Memorial Park in Rockport, TX.
