Robert L. "Bubba" Coker

June 18, 1954 — September 10, 2023

Robert "Bubba" Coker, age 69, a lifelong resident of Aransas Pass, passed away on September 10, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 18, 1954, in Aransas Pass, the son of the late Robert L. Coker Sr., and Alpha Louise Coker. Robert is preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Swango and Barbara Berna, and his son-in-law, James Crawford.

Bubba's hobbies were hunting, fishing, and bowling, but he was a pro in the art of visiting and had a knack for telling jokes that brought laughter and joy to his family and friends. He had a gift for connecting with others, and his friendly demeanor and sense of humor made him a beloved figure in the community. Bubba's ability to uplift spirits and bring smiles to faces will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bubba left school in the tenth grade to work on his father’s shrimp boat. He married the love of his life, Tondra Ann Lassman, on February 15, 1973. And in 1980, went to work for Champlin Refinery, later known as Citgo, where he retired as a shift supervisor after 35 years.

Bubba is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Tondra Coker, and their daughters, Natosha Brown (Jason) of Lumberton, Kelsey Durham (John) of Aransas Pass, and Tori Crawford (Lance) of Aransas Pass.  His grandchildren,  Madison, Kira, Taylor, Maddy O, Skyler, Jillian, James, Amelia, Zachary, and Olivia. His great-grandchildren, Georgia, Kendall, and Ripp. His sisters, Deborah Turnham (David) of Ingleside and Connie Cooper of Aransas Pass. He is also survived by his favorite dog, Lola. His love and devotion to his family were unwavering, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and joys.

Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Bubba's life at the visitation, which will take place on September 17,  2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. It will be an opportunity for all who knew Bubba to come together, share memories, and find solace in one another's company. Honorary pallbearers are Cody Peters, Ryder Millsaps, Connor Peters, Skyler Reynolds, James Crawford, Zachary McDonald, Jayden Wright, and Ripp Millsaps.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the same location. Officiate will be lifelong friend, Reverend David Dear. The service will be a time to honor Bubba's life, reflect on the cherished moments shared with him, and find comfort in the memories that will forever remain in our hearts.

The Coker family is deeply grateful for the love, support, and condolences received during this difficult time. They find solace in knowing that Bubba's memory will live on through the laughter and joy he brought into the lives of others.

Bubba will forever be remembered as a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished friend, and master of laughter. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
