Raymond Tijerina

Raymond Tijerina,87, passed away on April 30, 2021, in Portland, Tx. He was born and raised in Sinton, Tx., on July 24, 1933, to parents Isabel and Simon Tijerina.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents Isabel and Simon; his wife, Andrea Tijerina; daughter, Irma; sisters Janie Garces; Lola Gutierrez and Lupina Esparza; brothers, David Tijerina and Anthony Tijerina.

Left to cherish his memory is children, Raymond Tijerina Jr.; Isabel; Martin Salinas (Maria); Joe Salinas; Luis Salinas; Raul Salinas; Ricardo Salinas (Joyce); Maria Avilez (Antonio); Maria Moreno (Roman), Leon Candelaria (Gloria), Gilberto Salinas, and several other stepchildren; Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Raymond loved teaching his grandchildren how to play with a yoyo, he loved his Tejano music. His favorite baseball team was the L.A. Dodgers, and he was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.

Raymond was a member of the volunteer fire department in Cactus, Tx., he worked as a custodian for many years in several school districts, Rockport being the last.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will live forever in our hearts.
