It is with great sorrow the Boelling Family announces the passing of Colonel Randal “Randy” James Boelling on November 12, 2020. Randy was born in Villisca, Iowa on January 18, 1936. A graduate of Red Oak High School Class of 1953, he completed a BS in Chemistry at Iowa State in 1958 and finished his MBA in 1965 at Indiana University. A former Eagle Scout, he was a member of the US Army and a Korean War Veteran, spending time in Germany, England as well as Oklahoma, Alabama and Fort Hood, Texas. Randy rose to the rank of Colonel while a reservist, retiring at that rank after his 30 years of service to our nation. Colonel Boelling worked for Abbot Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer and Bristol-Meyers Squibb and then owned companies as a market researcher and an executive recruiter. Randy eventually retired to enjoy his daughter and grandchildren in Rockport, Texas in 2005 where he lived until his final day.
Colonel Boelling is survived by his three children: Kent (Judie) Boelling, Kimberly Jolley and Kristina (John) Tinney along with seven grandchildren: Journey, Hunter, Mercedes and Christian Jolley, Jason (Aimee) and Lucas (Shelby) Boelling and Brook Gregory, his two sisters: Jeanne (William) Harris and Judy (Raymond) Harold and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father: Elma and Wayne Boelling, isters Joan (Vernon) Hayes and brother Lendal (and Roxanne) Boelling and his beloved son-in-law David Jolley. Colonel Boelling lived a long full life and will be greatly missed.
Rosary and Viewing will be held at 10 am with Mass at 10:30 am Wednesday, November 18th at Sacred Heart Church of Rockport followed by a military funeral at Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery at 1 pm where you are welcome to pay your last respects. COVID protocols will be followed.
