Paul Arthur Leeper,96, passed away peacefully and was welcomed into our Lord's arms on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in Rockport, Texas with his loving family by his side.
Paul is survived by his son, Paul David Leeper, daughter, Patricia Diane Leeper-Locascio and granddaughter Chloe Locascio- Kirkby.
He was born on October 14, 1927 in Birmingham Iowa and graduated from Jefferson Davis high school in Houston Texas 1945.
In 1946 , Paul enlisted into the US Army and served in World War II. As a private, he was stationed in Panama. It was there, Paul met his lifelong buddy Ralph Joseph Ketron, Sr.
Upon returning from the war, Paul completed his education at Ohio State University and graduated in 1952 with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering .
After graduation, Paul began work as an engineer for Cincinnati Gas and Electric company (CG&E) and continue to work for CG&E until his retirement in 1989 and was known as "the man who could fix anything."
In 1957, Paul met the first love of his life Barbra Gene Hill. Barbra was the college roommate of his sister, Edith at Baylor.
Paul and Barbara married in February 1958 and settled in Cincinnati Ohio, where they were blessed with two children, Paul David and Patricia Dianne.
At the same time, Ralph Joseph Ketron Sr. found, courted and married Margaret "Marge" Mary Kestler.
Paul, Barbra, Ralph and Marge quickly became best friends. The two couples hosted game nights, traveled the USA extensively, spent many days camping on the Ohio River and included their extended families in many gatherings.
Sadly,Ralph Joseph Ketron Sr. passed in 1996.
Prior to Barbra's passing in 2001 and unbeknownst to Paul, Barbra encouraged and gave her blessing to the families for Paul and Marge to marry.
Paul and Marge were married in 2005 and had an amazing second life continuing many of their previous traditions.
Paul Arthur is proceeded in death by his parents, Minnie Mildred, Wagner-Leeper and David Roy Leeper. Brothers Hillis Donald Leeper, Harold Roy Leeper and James Frederick Leeper and sister Edith Ann Leeper Bogaard.
Paul will be remembered as the sweetest most generous person on the face of the earth who always put others before himself and was the closest thing to Jesus we have ever known.
He was the best husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa, and father-in-law anyone could ever ask for and he will be greatly missed so very much by his "baby boy", "baby girl" and granddaughter.
Funeral services for Paul Arthur Leeper will be held at the Rockport, Texas cemetery on Friday, August 16 at 10 AM. Services will be outside, graveside and will be led by Pastor Mark Ketron of Memorial Baptist Church. The funeral services will immediately follow with a celebration of life luncheon at the Boiling Pot restaurant on Fulton Beach Road in Rockport. A graveside service will also be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10:30 am at the Evergreen Cemetery in South Gate, Kentucky Please join us, as we celebrate an amazing man.
