Opal Dean Freeze Hunter (nee Johnson), 85 passed away January 28, 2021 in Beaumont, Texas. She was born January 29, 1935 in Coleman, Texas to James Herron Johnson, Sr., and Barbara Allen Winters Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Billy Ray Freeze (2000) and Jack Hunter (2016); sisters, Georgia Cordelia Johnson, Francis Annabell Johnson McFatridge, Gladys Ovidie Johnson Coleman; brothers, James Allen Johnson, Clarence David Johnson, Clovis Alton Johnson, and James Herron “Buddy” Johnson, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Geraldean Baker (Archie) and Vera Milne (Greg) of Village Mills, TX.

Visitation will be held from 4:00p.m.-8:00p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Aransas Pass. Graveside service will begin at 10:00a.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 at Old St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bayside.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping with social distancing orders, all necessary restrictions will be observed in order to protect the health and safety of those in attendance. Wear face coverings while inside building. Continue to practice social distancing while inside the funeral home chapel.
