Odilia Mendiola

Odilia Alma Mendiola, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on March 18, 2024, in Rockport, Texas. She was born on February 5, 1933, in Beeville, Texas, and went on to become a dedicated nurse, serving her community with compassion and endless dedication.

Odilia's legacy will forever live on through her beloved family. She is survived by her loving husband Albert Mendiola, sons Albert and Rick Mendiola, daughters Carol Kelley (Gene), Angie Mendiola, and Alma Papetti (A.J.), sister Rosie Flores (Ovideo), eleven grandchildren: Jonathan Peres, Shana Reeves, Claire Skeen, Kristan Kelley, Isaiah Mendiola, Vincent, AJ and Dylan Papetti, Trenton Sutherland, Gabriel Nelson, and Kathryn Stryker; twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her son Johnny Mendiola and her parents Jose and Lucy Rodriguez.

A woman of strength and grace, Odilia touched the lives of many with her kindness and selfless nature. She will be remembered for her nurturing personality, her unwavering dedication to her family, and her passion for helping others as a nurse.

A funeral mass to honor and celebrate Odilia Alma Mendiola's life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockport, Texas on April 4th at 10:00 AM. The solemn ceremony will be followed by a gathering at her lifelong home to share memories and support one another as we pay tribute to a life well-lived.
