Nancy Solis

Nancy Carol Solis went peacefully home May 11, 2024. She was born August 13, 1947 to Fred and Sara Elizabeth Harvey here in Rockport, Texas.

She is proceeded in death by her loving husband of many years Gordo Solis Sr., her parents, her brothers Ed and Tom, and her grandson Edward Hinojosa III.

She is survived by her daughters Penny (Jim) Stefanski of Michigan, Cheryl Pollard of Aransas Pass, and her son Richard (Yesenia) Solis Jr. of Rockport. Her grandkids Richard III, Ryan, Roman, Rocky, Brent, Sara, Nikki, and Alyssa. Plus, her many great grandchildren.

Nancy was a force to be reckoned with. She is the only person I know who could make a computer stutter. She was strong and the biggest fighter till the end. Nancy loved to play Bingo and enjoyed all the Bingo food. She was the brains of Gordo's Tires, working right along her husband keeping it running. She believed no matter who came over you should always feed them. Even if that meant she went without. Nancy loved with all her heart and loved watching her grandchildren play sports. She was their biggest supporter. Sitting next to Gordo and eating his popcorn. Cheering on the kids to run faster, swing straighter and always having the biggest hugs for them when it was over. Nancy had the love of a husband that gave thanks to God for bringing her into his life. She was his whole world. Even when they snuck off for 3 days to the King Ranch or just to go get ice cream and sit at the beach.

Now she can always be with him working on the moon bringing it up and making it shine brighter.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 10:00 am at Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes in Rockport, Texas.

A meal will be served at the SR Boil House after the service at the old location next to Rock Bottoms.
