Michael Kautz

Mike Kautz left this world too soon from an apparent heart attack on July 3, 2017. He was 53 years old. Mike was born April 18, 1964 to James G. and Mary Martha "Scottie" Kautz.

Mike graduated from RFHS in 1982. While there, he was active in all sports, lettering in football, basketball, and track. He also played baseball. After graduation, Mike attended SW Texas University (Texas State U) for two years, and later took courses at Del Mar Junior College.

Mike lived in Rockport his entire life. His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, golfing and gardening in the land where he lived and which he loved.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, James G. Kautz. He is survived by his mother, Mary Martha "Scottie" Kautz; his aunts, Jane Rouquette and Jean Andersen; his cousins, Vicki Prince, Rocky and Kevin Rouquette, John Andersen and Tammy Andersen. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00p.m.-9:00p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rockport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
