MICHAEL DEAN DUROY, 70, passed away January 13, 2018. Michael was born on November 1st, 1947 in Ponca City, OK to Aldene O. Hardesty and Allen Duroy.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents and by two of his siblings, Allen Duroy Jr. and Janet Knight.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Kaye Duroy; step children, Leah (Terry) Anthony and Sarena (Link) Polson; 3 sisters, Shirley Neal, Marilyn Melton and Elizabeth Emmons; 1 brother, David Duroy; 7 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike grew up in Tonkawa, OK, and was the youngest of 7 children. From an early stage in life Mike developed an interest and love for R.R's & Trains. Later in life he acquired an extensive collection of model trains. He attended college in Ponca City, OK for 3 years after HS before enlisting in the United States Army. He was a proud Soldier in the Army 101st Airborne Division I Corps and honorably received numerous Medals that included a National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and a Sharp Shooter Medal amongst many others. After his Honorable Discharge, Mike attended Central State University in Edmond, OK. Mike then pursued a successful career owning a business in the construction industry as a trim carpenter. He married his loving wife, Janice Kaye Shobert on September 20, 2004. Mike also had a passion for music. Which lead him to form a Country band named Paradise 5 in Mustang, OK, playing with the band for many years. He enjoyed the South Texas weather and loved outdoor activities such as fishing and camping just to name a few.

He had a gentle heart & soul and was a kind, giving and loving person. He will be missed every day and loved forever by those who knew him.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Gas Light Mobile Home Park in the REC Hall located at 1500 W. Matlock Ave. Aransas Pass, TX 78336. In lieu of flowers, family would like donations made to the VA Hospital or your local VFW post.
