It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Richard Bulis, a beloved husband, brother, and uncle. Michael peacefully departed this world on February 5, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Born on October 22, 1951, in Bakersfield, CA, Michael was raised in a loving family alongside his parents and his two brothers. Although preceded in death by his parents John Bulis and Bonnie (McIntire) Bulis and brother, John Thomas Bulis their spirits will forever live on in his heart.
Michael's life was marked by his deep devotion to his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Sharon Patricia Bulis, brother, Donald Eugen Bulis, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Together, they built a bond that transcended time and brought immense joy to their lives.
A man of many passions and interests, Michael had an insatiable love for baseball. He would light up when watching the St. Louis Cardinals play, and his enthusiasm for the game brought laughter and excitement to those around him. He also displayed great courage and skill as a professional scuba diver in open water and held a lifelong passion for aviation as a private pilot.
Throughout Michael's life, he treasured the friendships he cultivated and the memories he made. His friendly and approachable nature enabled him to form deep connections with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss his infectious laugh and warm presence.
From an early age, it was clear that Michael possessed a thirst for knowledge and academic achievement. He attended three different schools during his kindergarten years, an adventure that sparked his love for learning. Graduating in the top 10 of his class from Naylor High School in 1969, Michael's dedication to his studies was unwavering. His pursuit of knowledge continued, leading him to graduate first in his class from ITT Tech in 1990, a testament to his intelligence and perseverance.
Michael's caring nature extended beyond his immediate circle, as he was an active member of the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief in Texas. His commitment to serving those in need showcased his selflessness and compassionate spirit.
In celebration of Michael's life and the indelible mark he left on all those who knew him, we invite friends and extended family to attend the public viewing at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass on February 9, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
