Melba was nothing short of a song bird. During World War II, she toured Corpus Christi, Houston, Louisiana and many other surrounding areas with lead Band Director, Eddie Hayden, singing with the USO for the United States Troops. Her singing didn't stop there. She went on to be the president of the Symphony Guild in Corpus Christi where she entertained many well-known stars and continued her love of entertaining. Melba lived a life of service whether it was creating musical atmospheres or helping out a dear friend. Though her family misses her dearly, she is never really gone. Melba will walk beside her family each and every day. Still loved, still missed, but most importantly still heard. To our song bird - whose melody will live on forever.
