Max Moore Slaughter

November 1, 1937 – May 2, 2023

Max Slaughter left this world to join the Lord and Frankie in the early morning hours of May 2nd, 2023.

Max was born on November 1, 1937 in Laredo, Texas to Steven Alva Slaughter and Nettie May Moore.

On February 22nd, 1971 Max married the love of his life Frankie Jo in Taft, Texas.

After High School Max enlisted into the U.S. Navy on June 7th, 1956 and exited the Navy as Petty Officer Third Class. After the Navy Max went to work at Reynolds Metals Sherwin Plant in Gregory Texas where he started out as a Pipefitter. He worked at Reynolds Metals for 30+ years until he retired as General Foreman in 2000. During his time there he made a lifetime of Friendships. After retirement he found a love of Golf and spent much of his time on the course with friends and was a Member of Live Oak Country Club. When he lived in Ingleside, Texas he joined Ingleside Church of the New Testament where he was a Church Director. Then he moved to San Marcos, where he attended Solid Rock Church where he was an active member and loved by everyone. Throughout Max’s life he collected so many close Friendships from Reynolds, the Golf Course, Church and around town. Max was known for his sharp wit and could take just as much as he gave out. He was a curious sole and sincerely wanted to get to know all who passed through his life. Max made a point to keep connection with all his Family and Friends up until the day he passed. A big part of each of his daily routine was phone calls to Family and Friends.

Max is preceded in death by his Father Steven Alva Slaughter, Mother Nettie May Moore, Beloved Wife Frankie Jo Slaughter and Grand Daughter Brooke Ashley Johnson.

Max is survived by his Daughter Paula Harmon (David), Son Nicholas Slaughter (Michelle) and Sons Jimbo and Robert Johnson.
