For anyone who knew Mary in her prime, she was a free spirit who could and would take on the world, all or nothing. Mary excelled in every path life led her, however, above all, her greatest passion was Horsemanship. After 12 years in the Air Force starting in transportation soon transferred to and ended in the medical service. Thereafter, Staff Sergeant Mary Wederstrandt entered the ‘Air Force Now’ program to continue her passion riding her well-known mare, Foolish, who carried her through to the Olympic qualifiers in 3-day eventing. As her career choices developed, she excelled all the way to the top of the business world, including Presidential recognition for her hidden talent as a manager bouncing from one facility to the next making each the best they’d ever been. After disability took her stamina, she went on to live a blissful, exciting retirement with her Husband Ken and Grandchild Amenity; riding motorcycles, flipping homes, walking the beach, and eventually settled down in their final home in the country with horses, family, and dogs by their side. We’d like to believe she's riding Foolish once again, across those pearly gates.

~No heaven can heaven be, if my horse isn’t there to welcome me. For one to fly, one needs only to take the reins~ author unknown.
