Mary Lou was born in Greenville, TX on June 23, 1923. When she was young the family moved to the Rio Grande Valley where she spent most of her life. She graduated high school as Valedictorian of her class at Wilson Tract School in Primera, TX and went on to Texas A&I University in Kingsville. After working in San Antonio, she returned to the valley and married Bob Rosendahl in 1948. They built their home on the farm in Lozano and were active members of the community and St. John's Lutheran Church for more than fifty years. Mary Lou was always family oriented but did work as a bookkeeper for the local gin as well as keeping books for the family farming business. She liked volunteering and enjoyed sewing, reading, crafts, cooking, preserving farm produce and playing games with friends and family. Though never blessed with children of her own, she was godparent to several and like a second mother to nieces, nephews and neighborhood children. To be near family Mary Lou's last fourteen years were spent in Ingleside & Portland, TX where she remained active as long as health allowed. She will be missed by all who loved her.

Interment service will be held Friday, January 12, 1:00 PM at Mont Meta Memorial Park, 26170 TX-345, San Benito, TX.

Because of Mary Lou's lifelong devotion to children, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Children's Backpack Ministry which provides backpacks with weekend food for children who might not otherwise have enough to eat until returning to school. This outreach program is sponsored by Ingleside United Methodist Church, PO Box 688 Ingleside, TX 78362.

The family wishes to express our heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Pavilion Assisting Living for their loving attention to Mary Lou during her three year residence there.
