Mary Alice Pena

Mary Alice was born in Rockport, Texas on August 10, 1946. She went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mary Rinche Pena and her brother Eddie Pena and sister Carolyn Pena. She was survived by her sister Tomasita Pena of Rockport. She is also survived by one Uncle, Fred Rinche and one Aunt, Beatrice Rinche. Mary Alice attended Sacred Heart School when it was taught by the Schoenstatt Sisters. She continued her schooling in Rockport and graduated with the Class of 1964. After completing Business School, she went to work for Mobil Oil Co. She moved to Houston in 1972. She worked for Mobil Oil for 30 years. It later became Exxon Mobil. She worked there for 8 years. She worked on the transition team to merge the two companies. She volunteered at Twelve Oaks Hospital in Houston for several years. She helped run the gift shop. She then moved back to Rockport to help take care of Dad. He lived to be 100 years old. She volunteered at the Sacred Heart Church office helping with several projects. She served on the board of the Federation of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the Diocese of Corpus Christi for several years She was also President of the Sacred Heart Rockport Our Lady of Guadalupe Society. A public visitation will be held on June 27, 2024 from 5:00-7:00p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport. A mass on June 28, 2024 and will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00a.m. followed with interment at Rockport Cemetery.
