Mary Meza

Mary Jane Meza passed away June 21,2023. She was 80 years old. She was born April 9, 1943 in Victoria, Texas to Steve Tijerina and Juanita Perez Tijerina.

She was a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Aransas Pass and loved to do arts and crafts. Her real passion was cooking for her family and friends. Mary Jane was considered everybodies "Second Mom". She was an avid Cowboys fan and always looked forward to watching game day with Gogie, Tia Mary and her late Aunt Manuela. She was married for 54 years to her husband, Gregory Meza until his passing in 2014. She cherished her family and was an avid football fan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gregory Meza; son, Gregory Meza Jr.; brother, Ray Tijerina; brother-in-law, Lee Meza; sister-in-law, Maria Almras.

She is survived by three sons, Lewis Meza (Lana Davenport), David Meza (Lisa), and Michael Meza (Kelly); daughters, Gloria Meza, and Julia Guerrero (Terry); brothers, Jessie Tijerina (Yolanda), and Frank Tijerina (Betty); sisters, Elogia Rangel, and Anita Villa (Abel); sister in laws, Mary Meza, and Lydia T, Lopez; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm with the holy rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Aransas Pass with Father Emilio Jimenez officiating. A burial will follow at the Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass.
