Mary Hodge

Mary Lou Hodge peacefully passed away January 25, 2018 surrounded by family. Mary was born August 9, 1929 in Springfield, Missouri, and lived her childhood in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Her parents William T. Maddox and Lorie A. Maddox, her brother William E. Maddox, her grandson Michael L. Bowen, preceded her in death.

Mary leaves behind the love of her life for the last 69 years, Odie W. Hodge. They started their life together in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and raised three children there. In the early 70's they made their way to the Texas Coast and have called Aransas Pass their home. Mary enjoyed working as a substitute teacher for Rockport-Fulton ISD, Aransas Pass ISD, and Gregory-Portland ISD. She also helped in her husband's business performing bookkeeping services. Mary was a devoted Jehovah's Witness and spent countless hours ministering to others door to door.

Mary is survived by her husband, Odie W. Hodge, two siblings, June Weaver and Milford Maddox (Connie), three adult children, Carolyn S. Bowen, Frank F. Hodge (Susan), Doris A. Storie (Donald), grandchildren, Michelle Metcalf (Chris), Marcia Freeman (Brad), Monica Beckley (Ralph), Renae Hodge, Stacy McNeal (Chad), Shane Storie, great-grandchildren, Brittany Gilbert, Dylan Bowen, David Beckley, Kyle Beckley, Ralph Beckley, Lauren Hodge, Megan Whitehead, Addison Hodge, Faith McNeal and Reed McNeal, and great-great grandchild Eastyn Gilbert.
