Mary Hedge

Rockport resident Mary Ann Hedge passed away on February 18, 2021. Mary Ann would have been 88 on her birthday this Sunday, February 28.

Mrs. Hedge is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Raymond R. Hedge, and sisters Patsy Rynazewski and Sally Costello.

Mary Ann is survived by her five children: Gabrielle Johnson of Inola, OK; Rene Mack of Claremore, OK; Matthew Hedge of Little Rock, AR, Edward Hedge of Rockport, TX, Michele Viarengo of Wallingford, CT; nine grandchildren: Alex Koch, Beth Koch, Faith Thompson, Deandra Butler, Melanie Butler, Tabitha Hedge, Reagan Hedge, Anthony Viarengo and Christopher Viarengo, also sisters Delores Frunzi, Loretta Muschall, Arlene Schamp and Catherine Jenness, brother John Kaiser, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.

Our mother is most remembered by her beautifully written letters and cards. She enjoyed sewing and singing.  She served as treasurer for the Peacemakers by the Sea quilting guild and in 2018, as a member of the Rockport Community Choir shook hands with Vice President Pence at the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Harvey.
