Marion Elizabeth Goode Rector, 64, a resident of Aransas Pass, Texas passed away on November 28, 2017. She was born January 29, 1953 in Skidmore, Texas to Chester and Bernice Goode. Marion confessed to Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was baptized and fellowships at Macedonia Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.
She grew into womanhood and was a faithful and dedicated young woman. She graduated from Aransas Pass High School, class of 1972. She earned her college degree at South Texas Business College, where she began her career soon after with the City of Aransas Pass, as the financial secretary, and worked for over 30 years.
On August 25, 1973 she married the love of her life, David Rector, Sr., from that union two children were born, one son, David L Rector, Jr. and one daughter Schamica D. Rector. As of date, Marion and David just recently celebrated their 44 years of Holy Matrimony after dating for 7 years.
She was active in the community, participated in the TOPS organization, as well as served for years with the Women's Club of Aransas Pass. She faithfully served within many organizations and capacities until the very end. She had a great sense of humor, a huge open and caring heart to share love to everyone in her presence.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Chester and Bernice Goode, 6 sisters: Wanda Smith, Vera Harris, Alma Crenshaw, Mae Ella Goode, Grady B Price, Patricia Harvey and 2 Brothers: Melvin Goode, and John Earl Goode.
She is survived by her husband; David L. Rector, Sr., one son David L. Rector, Jr. (Tampa, Florida) and one daughter Schamica D. Rector (Aransas Pass, Texas) and one granddaughter Tamia Elizabeth Nash (Aransas Pass) and one grandson Domnick Jacoby Garcia (Houston, Texas); one nephew Ernest (Lisa) Price (Portland, Texas) and a hosts of nieces and Nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9am-9pm Friday, December 1, 2017 with family present from 5pm-8pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 10am with Rev. David Harris officiating Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Aransas Memorial Park.
