Margie Fay Janota
November 6, 1938, to March 16, 2021, Margie Fay (Edler) Janota, 82, of Rockport, passed away peacefully at home on March 16, 2021.
Margie was born in Austin, Texas to John Page Edler and Irene (Southwell) Edler, the youngest of three children. In the 1940’s the family moved to Rockport.
She was a loving daughter, mother, aunt, grandmother, and special friend. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Johnny and Bill Edler, Husband of 26 years, Edward Wayne Janota, and grandchild, Jacob Allen Payne.
She is survived by her sons, Ron Janota and wife Kelley of Rockport, Bill Janota and wife Jennifer of Amarillo, and daughter Donna Harkins and husband Bill of Rockport. She is also survived by her Grandchildren, Nicholas Payne of Austin, Jessica Janota of Kingwood, Jordan Janota of Fishkill, NY and Dylan and Paul Janota of Amarillo.
Margie was a teacher at heart and worked for many years as CCD Coordinator for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport, ABC School in Rockport, and as a Teacher’s Aid at Live Oak Elementary, retiring for health reasons. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and everyone loved her pies, breads, and sausage kolaches. She loved animals, especially her dog Sadie.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at Charlie Marshall’s Funeral Home in Rockport, on March 27, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. Margie loved the color pink, so to honor her we will be wearing something pink.
