Manuel Flores, Jr.

Manuel, Leopoldo Flores, Jr., age 65, passed away March 7, 2019 in Mobile, AL. He was born in Rockport, TX October 18, 1953 to Manuel Flores Sr., and Rachel Flores. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister Regina and his beloved dog Tiger. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a lifelong resident of Rockport, TX.

He is survived by his son Christopher and daughter in law Katie; grandchildren Clayton, Ava, Jacob, Carson and Isabella; sisters Zinnia, Cathy (John), Gracie, Sarah, Henrietta, Becky (Kevin), Gerry, Rachel (Tommy); brothers Joe and Andrew (Jennifer); Aunts and Uncle; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who all loved him very much.

Manuel, known to his family and friends as ‘Meme’ loved the game of baseball and was a long time member of the Corpus Christi Baseball Umpires Association. He umpired from youth to collegiate level baseball games.

His love for baseball was only surpassed by his love and pride for his only son Christopher Flores. Known to his grandkids as ‘Popo’ he loved playing baseball with Clayton and Jacob, taking ‘nature walks’ with Carson, and spoiling Ava and Isabella.

Serving as Pallbearers will be his brothers Joe and Andrew Flores, umpire brothers Johnny Rios, Kevin Cosby, Kyle Cosby, Augie Garcia, Jay Curiel and Andy Villareal. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandsons Clayton, Jacob, and Carson Flores.

Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday March 14, 2019 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, TX .

Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday March 15, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport. The Burial will follow at Rockport Cemetery.
