Mae Jane Lara

Mae Jane Lara, age 77, of Rockport, Texas, passed away on August 30, 2024. Born on

April 19, 1947, She was blessed to have many roles as a wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her father, George Middaugh, Sr., mother, Opal Carter Middaugh, brother, George Middaugh, Jr., sister, Delois Bailey, sister, Delores Cardova, son, Brian Allan Flanigan, Sr. and her beloved husband, Claudio Lara.

She is survived by her grandson, Brian Allan Flanigan, Jr., whom she raised since age of five years old, her step-children, Claudio Lara, Jr., Joe Lara (Terri), Larry Lara, Jerry Lara, Irene Ramos (Jose) and Gracie Lara, all residing in Rockport, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mae Jane had a tremendous passion for fishing and life on the water. From her younger years working on a shrimp boat with her family, to later in life fishing for piggy perch with her cousin Elaine, any spare time she had, she enjoyed being by the water. Besides, having a passion for fishing, she also loved spending quality time with her family, friends, her husband of over 40 years and her faithful companion, Popcorn.

Her memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas.
