In Loving Memory of Lyndon Patrick Griffin (June 19, 1974 - December 7, 2024)
Lyndon Patrick Griffin was born June 19, 1974, at Hermann Hospital of Houston, Texas. Being born on Juneteenth may have contributed to his passion for freedom, his country, and his family. As a teenager, he attended Milford Academy and Notre Dame High School, before graduating from Westwood High School in Austin. There, he was a writer for the student newspaper, known for his bright spirit and friendly demeanor. Lyndon joined the United States Navy soon after finishing high school, where he demonstrated courage and dedication throughout his time on the bridge of the USS Spruance. He served during Operation Desert Shield and was honorably discharged from his service in 1996. Recreationally, Lyndon referred to himself as a tinkerer, sailor, and master of unfinished projects. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, was registered as an Open Water Diver and held an Amateur Radio License, call sign KB5THE. He was additionally an avid musician, mastering the oboe, piano, various percussion instruments, and guitar over the course of his life. Most recently, Lyndon was employed as an Information Systems Architect with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
Lyndon passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024. Lyndon was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend. He is survived by his children, Kira Lyn Griffin, Charlotte Kelley Griffin, and Reilly Patrick Griffin; his mother, Linda Beam; his father, Dean Griffin; and his siblings, Andrea Prosser, Felicia Goode, and Patrick Beam along with cousins, aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews. Lyndon was a devoted husband to Karin Griffin for 20 years of marriage and a loving father to his pride and joy, Kira, Charlotte, and Reilly. Lyndon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held on January 5th, 2025, with an inurnment at Rockport Cemetery on January 3rd, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars.
